Montreal Nights

After Entebbe and Vancouver the array of cultural/fun events in Montreal are endless.
.
Let's look at my week in review:
.
Trivia Night (and yes, 'Bring on the Soup, Guey!' won, although sadly not in the best team name category); Kalmunity (amazing organic improv music); Frisbee (I was less than happy to have to play in the cold at 10pm but my team, the Frisbinos [gotta do something about the name - but what do you expect from Physics Grad Students?] made it into the finals!); Australian modern dance show about life (conclusion: growing old is scary but standing in the rain rejuvenating); going up Mont Royal at night with wine (amazing view but once again freezing!); Grito pa'la paz (fundraiser with dancing, body painting, live graffiti and music for friends to go to Chile to participate in painting the world's longest mural as part of this year's international events for peace) - that's where these pictures come from. And lastly, going to the Sex, Labour, SMUT Film Festival and watching a movie on transgender people in Iran. Did you know that being homosexual is punishable by death in Iran, but having a gender change operation is not? Just think of the consequences and moral dilemmas!
.
And yes, I do do work. Am about to read about the purifying power of violence. Good stuff.
.

End result of the body painting - Shalak is amazing!

What is that on my arm!?!

By the end of the night I developed a new appreciation for tattoos, especially ones with shiny, metallic ink. But not to worry - the permanence scares me.
